Toastmasters International LOGO. (PRNewsFoto/Toastmasters International)

An LGBT-friendly Toastmaster Club in Ann Arbor. Toastmasters is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping people develop excellent communication and leadership skills. You may have heard that Toastmasters is for people who have a fear of public speaking.

SpeakOUT! is uniquely tailored to the needs of the Ann Arbor / Ypsilanti and greater Southeastern Michigan LGBT Community. We offer a welcoming environment for you to improve your public speaking and leadership skills. Whether Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender or a Straight Ally – we hope you’ll join us. We meet the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month at 7 pm at the Jim Toy Community Center in the Kerrytown area of Ann Arbor, on Braun Ct (two doors away from the Aut Bar).

Meetings are free to guests who are encouraged to bring a friend and attend several times to see why we’re the best thing that’s ever happened to public speaking.

Guests are ALWAYS welcome!

Get Out Bike Rides
Mar 2 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Rides are anywhere for 10 to 25 miles in length, usually including a lunch or dinner stop. They will be on Saturdays and Sundays sometimes starting at 10am, sometimes later. We ride a leisurely pace and the majority of the rides are in state parks so you may need a park pass. We try and stay off main roads as much as possible.

Please check back often as ride schedule changes due to rain and other issues.

The schedule will probably look something like this:

May 4th Paint Creek Trail
May 27 Pedal Paddle Picnic – Stoney Creek – Bike-Kayak-Picnic
June 15 Three Parks
July 4 Pelee Island Ride
July 20  3 Parks 11am – See Below

August 24 Tour de Nasty 11am Three Parks. Meet at the Tulip Tree Picnic area about 1 mile into lower Huron Metro Park. Entrance to park is East of I-94 on Haggerty Road. Parks require a parking pass that can be purchased at the gate. Towards the end of the ride, we will head into New Boston and have lunch at McNasty’s, a nice burger and beer bar. It’s about a 20 mile ride all the way to the nature center and back with a few rolling hill and a couple short but steep hills. The rewards are the downhills. Go at your own pace and as far out and back as you like.
